Margaret’s Hope Tea Garden manufactures a very small quantity of Darjeeling Muscatel teas every year during Summer. This 2024 muscatel from Margaret’s Hope evokes the fruity sweetness of the muscat grape. This is a classically made well rolled Darjeeling tea. It has a scent of a waxed wood note with floral and fruity peaks. Predominantly floral, fruity and woody- spicy. The liquor appearance is coppery and shiny. A slight astringency gives a good presence in the mouth. This is a harmonious tea with respect to the balance between flavour, texture and the scents, a character of a true Muscatel tea.

Liquor Color : Light and Pale

Flavor : Fruity Sweetness of Muscat grapes

Delicious Tea!

I've had other muscatels before which turned out to be a bit nasty- they smelled musky and were too astringent for my taste. I got the Margaret's Hope Muscatel recently right from the garden after tasting their moonlight tea, and hoped for the best- and I was pleasantly surprised! The flavour notes mentioned in the description of the tea are actually prominent once you brew the tea, and it tastes delightfully fruity with a slight floral note. Gorgeous tea. Cannot speak for the packaging and delivery, but if you can get your hands on this directly from the tea garden, I would absolutely wholeheartedly recommend.
